Tired is stupid

I finished a rather unpleasant series of night shifts this morning, but wanted to try at least one game during the PM despite feeling a little tired. I again chose to go with a King's Gambit, not necessarily expecting success but at least hoping I could do better than last time - and also see how I coped with a very tactical game.

The game was against a 1366 on ICC at a time control of 30 minutes plus 30 seconds per move, which was probably not enough in retrospect. It did get very tactical, and although I kept track of things reasonably well it is clear that blindfold is far harder in the kind of open and aggressive position that resulted. For example while thinking during my opponents turn I was horrified on several occasions by moves I thought would win easily for him, before eventually seeing a reason why he couldn't play it (e.g. a piece or pawn blocked the move I was worried about). That is until the end, when he *could* (and did) play a horrifying move.

A pretty crazy game, and I suppose I should be happy that my piece sacrifice was actually almost justified. During the game however I never felt in control or had a clear sense of what was going on - it just felt like a confusing mess! Finding myself repeatedly contemplating impossible moves was also a bit disappointing.
